The International Seed Federation (ISF) World Seed Congress 2026, held in Lisbon, Portugal, brought together more than 1,800 participants from 78 countries under the theme “Joint Actions, Resilient Futures.” As one of the seed industry’s most important global events, the congress serves as a platform for discussions on innovation, sustainability, regulation, and the future of agriculture.
Representing GDM, Henrique Sergio Alves, Executive Manager of Regulatory Strategy, participated in the panel discussion “From Belém to Lisbon – Plant Health, COP30 and the Future of the Seeds Trade.” The session explored key topics impacting the global seed sector, including plant health, regulatory developments, international trade, and sustainability challenges.

A significant milestone during the event was Henrique’s official appointment to the ISF Board of Directors as a representative of ABRASEM (Brazilian Seed and Seedling Association). In this role, he will actively contribute to strategic discussions, working groups, and initiatives that help shape the future of the global seed industry.
The appointment reinforces GDM’s commitment to contributing to international dialogue and collaboration across the agricultural value chain. By participating in industry leadership forums and governance bodies, the company continues to support the advancement of science-based regulation, innovation, and sustainable agricultural development.
As agriculture faces increasingly complex global challenges, GDM remains committed to working alongside industry partners, researchers, and policymakers to help build resilient and productive agricultural systems for the future.
